MAPS
MAPS GUIDING OUR FUTURE
Land uses are the types of activities allowed to occur in a particular location. Future land uses identified in Memphis 3.0 help guide the City on land use decisions, streets, transportation, transit, public investments in infrastructure and civic spaces, and investments and incentives in housing, neighborhoods, and job centers. The plan identifies how different degrees of change - Accelerate (intensify the pattern of a place), Nurture (stabilize the pattern of a place), and Sustain (maintain the pattern of a place) - can impact different anchors in Memphis. Anchors are where the action action is or has been, and where it will be in the future. Anchors generally include a mix of places where commerce, services, and civic activities intersect, and where higher densities of housing, commercial activity, employment, and community uses are desired. Street Types are matched to the future land use type based on context, applicability, and appropriateness to the land use and density/intensity. The street types are designed to be safe and attractive for all users, regardless of how they move.
PLANNING DISTRICT MAPS
During the comprehensive planning process, the City was divided into 14 planning districts. Each planning district is distinct in character with different priorities. The maps below show street types as identified in the plan, the future transit network, existing and proposed greenprint network, and the existing building footprint for all of the 14 districts.
