WHAT IS TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT?

Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is a type of development with a mix of uses such as housing, jobs, restaurants, shops, services, public spaces, and entertainment within easy walking distance to transit shops.  The overall goals are: increase population and building density, decrease the dependency on cars, and encourage other types of transportation such as walking, biking, and transit.
